Key and helpfull guide to your training schedule:

  • S/C = Strength & Conditioning training which is delivered age appropriate and works on conditioning their bodies for triathlon, as they get older the strength element increases.
  • Everything in RED involves bringing a Bike and Helmet to that session. Understandably for safety reasons Helmets must be worn at all times and without a Helmet you wont be able to cycle and will have to run pretty fast to keep up.
  • T1/T2 = Transition 1 and Transition 2 practice, simulating Swim to Bike (T1) & Bike to Run (T2) in triathlons. Practicing setting up of transition, rules and tactics including some talcum powder in the trainers.
  • Bike/Run Brick = A brick session is where we put two disciplines one after the other without rest in between simulating a race i.e Bike to Run. When you finish on the bike your legs can feel a bit like jelly for the run so we simulate this in training to get used to it and to train for it.
  • Triathlon = Swim then Bike then Run. We use these as good training sessions to help our triathletes race confidently and get used to competing.
  • Duathlon = Run then Bike then Run again. Another good training session putting all the race pace skills into action without getting wet.
